Learnings from the past week
Personal update, best blogs I wrote the past week, blog recall and best thing I found on the internet recently.
Here’s my weekly personal update:
Was a crazy week. I did some exciting things, learnt a lot in the process. But again in the KPIs below this won't reflect because I (again) didn't give dedicated time to learning a skill. You'd think why does this guy even put this as a KPI when he never does anything for it. It's because it's hard for me, it makes me super uncomfortable and that's why I don't do it but I should, I have to, it's important. That's the reason I put it there, so that every week I'm confronted with this question, "How many hours did I dedicate to learning a skill?". So that I feel guilty and ashamed of not doing it. I don't shy away from the truth, I don't want to turn my face away from what's not working. I want to face it, conquer it. Till then I'll keep trying.
Personal KPIs (Key Performance Indicators):
Time spent learning a skill: 0 hours (I'll try)
Wake up on time: 3/7 days (fine)
Blogs, Vlogs, work, self-care: 7/7 days (good)

Blog Recall: Some good blogs I wrote in the past-
Consistency vs hardwork.
These are the 2 ways of achieving any goal. Either you consistently work on something to get better at it or you try and slog your ass off just when there’s a need. Let’s take an example to understand this- If a student studies an hour a day consistently then at the day before the examination, he’ll not have to put in the hardwork. While another student has a different way of doing it-he enjoys life and studies the day before the exam and still manages to do well. The second kind may even barter his sleep to study on the last few days. I was always the second kind. But now I’m slowly trying to move towards the first kind. Why? Because the 2nd kind doesn’t work as good in the real world as it did in school. Like if I ask you to write a long blog post today. Will you be able to? It will be hell difficult for a person who isn’t a consistent blogger. You sure will Google the heck out of-how to write a good blog post but at the end of it,your blog will always seem inferior to a consistent blogger. This is the sole reason why I write atleast 1 blog everyday Hardwork can be offset by consistency Are you consistent in your competency? -ChoubeySahab
Your attention costs money.
Yesterday I went to a supermarket with my father. There was a man who was salesperson for a new tea company. He offered tea to my father and he accepted the offer. But little did my father know that by accepting the tea, he essentially gave his valuable attention in exchange for tea. Now that he has tea in his hand, he is left with no option but to listen to the salesperson. He obviously can’t just walk around the supermarket sipping tea. I observed that now that he had finished his tea, he was still listening to the salesperson as he felt indebted. And guess what we ended up buying tea of an unknown brand. So you see, the free tea was the bait and once you go for it- you are trapped. Even an average salesperson would make a sale once you’ve fallen for this bait. Never accept things for free. Nothing in this world comes without pay. “Free” is just another bait, don’t be a mouse. -ChoubeySahab
